Over the past few months, the transformations induced by the Covid-19 emergency, in addition to forcing us into telecommuting, distance learning, and webinars, have also affected the world of health and health care, with a remarkable acceleration of technological solutions for making remote visits, monitoring physiological parameters from home, and making disease diagnoses.
The phenomenon of "digitalhealth" (or digital health) has taken on increasing social importance so much so as to merit a specific entry in the 10th Appendix of the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia. To fully understand its meaning, applications in the field and expected benefits, Treccani - Apulia and Basilicata Agency in collaboration with Openwork, an Apulian IT company that has repeatedly applied its software technologies also in digital health, held an online event on Friday, March 19, entitled "Digital Health the new frontier of medicine: meanings and applications."
The event was attended by a number of experts in the field, including Prof. Eugenio Santoro, Mario Negri IRCCS Institute for Pharmacological Research, and editor of the definition of Digital Health in Appendix X of the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia; Maurizio Leone, Director UOC Neurology of IRCCS Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza; and Piero Cosoli, Health Business Line Manager of Openwork srl.
According to research by Prof. Santoro, in Italy, in the current pandemic-dominated context, "there were 174 initiatives to use digital tools undertaken by Italian healthcare providers to support remote patient visits (29% for Covid patient management, 71% for chronic conditions) with a higher prevalence of remote visits (47%) than telemonitoring (33%)."
Treccani and Openwork, in addition to taking a snapshot of the ecosystem of the most widely used telemedicine tools in Italy and around the world, (from triage and televisita systems to telemonitoring systems to so-called "wearables," which in Italy affect 10.3 percent of the population, second behind the U.S. with 12.2 percent and ahead of Germany and France), discussed and showed the potential of the phenomenon in Puglia through some concrete cases.

In the case of Apulia, in fact, one of the most awarded telemedicine projects nationwide is the one proposed by Maurizio Angelo Leone, director of the Neurology Unit at IRCCS Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza, which arose from the need of clinicians to constantly monitor and provide teleassistance to some young multiple sclerosis patients followed from their homes, through the Jamio platform created by the Openwork IT company.
"Multiple sclerosis," Leone emphasized, "is the most frequent cause of neurological disability in young people and is characterized by a chronic course that affects people's quality of life physically and psychologically. The course of the disease is unfortunately not very predictable, and for this reason the help that technologies can offer is important to reduce travel, better organize one's time, and receive constant support from the care team. The ultimate goal is to improve patients' quality of life. On the other hand, the medical team can integrate the clinical information already available in the Hospital with that detected on the territory and with biosignals (heart rate, temperature, sleep, mobility, etc...) and information (through questionnaires, video calls, image transmission, detection of adverse events) detected through devices easily available on the market. Young patients who experienced the entire E-health ecosystem described all the opportunities offered as 'user-friendly' and were enthusiastic about the possibility."
The CoViD-19 pandemic provides a unique opportunity to relaunch a serious digital health and telemedicine program in Italy. "Telemedicine can improve the services offered by the SSN thanks to the possibility of offering services that do not require the patient to move from his or her home, monitor patients remotely, and manage chronic diseases," explained Prof. Eugenio Santoro, head of the Laboratory of Medical Informatics at IRCCS Mario Negri. "The recent guidelines on telemedicine approved by the State-Region Conference that regulate the prescription, administration and reimbursability of some categories of telemedicine services, equating them to traditional in-person services, are moving in this direction. In addition, Prof. Santoro concludes, "It is possible that such tools can reduce health care costs although data in the literature are limited and conflicting." With the current development of innovative technologies-such as mobile health, internet of things, big data analytics, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, collaborative robotics-there is the possibility of redesigning systems-health at the root towards a real ecosystem of innovation, through the development of new digital services for the benefit of policy-makers, physicians and patients; it is thanks to digital technologies that the latter become active players in the management of their own care pathway.

Managing PEC & MAIL in organizations
PEC and email are a widespread tool in companies to manage communications both between different organizations and between people within the same organization.
They act as a means of transporting information and documents that represent the company's information assets and not individual ones. They take part, in various ways, in the company's business processes and if not properly managed can give rise to information loss, inefficiencies, delays, which fall back on the company's business.
Various application solutions can help us in management. One certainly successful and organic approach is to have procedures and methodologies to properly digitize business processes with the help of Business Process Management Platforms.

Excel, from individual to organizational resource.
In this brief example, we will see how you can process economic bids within Jamio processes from an Excel spreadsheet containing price lists, discounts and related calculations.
We learn how to manipulate internal information in Jamio through the use of an example Jamioware called Offer Management.
Jamioware allows the processing of a bid by an Account Manager, where the price lists and the calculations related to them, which are useful in processing the bid, are contained within an excel sheet, also deposited in Jamio. The excel file is placed within the folder in which Jamioware is deposited.
The account manager can manage the bid formulation by directly entering the data into Jamio without directly interacting with the spreadsheet that does the processing instead, while still leaving easy maintenance of the spreadsheet itself to another licensed operator.
