Brokerage of low-code and nocode application services

MAGAZINE N. 46 | Application Services Brokerage: The Competitive Advantage in the Low-Code/No-Code Era

Brokerage : a word that most people associate with the insurance world. Indeed, in insurance, brokerage is " the mediation activity performed by a broker, a financial intermediary specializing in offering counterparty research services on the markets for goods and financial assets (currencies, securities) in exchange for a commission, calculated based on the volume of business concluded through them," source: Treccani encyclopedia.

Why is this term used today in the ICT world, especially in the context of Application Services Brokerage ? And what implications does it have for business?

Application service brokering refers to the process of facilitating, managing, and coordinating access to application services by an organization or user, even when those services are distributed across different platforms or providers. A "broker" in this context acts as an intermediary, simplifying the interaction between application services and end users.

What if the broker no-code application development platform ? Or better yet, what if the platform's exposed features included application services brokerage , meaning third-party providers?

We would have the opportunity to leverage the same modeling environment used for the development of  enterprise applications in which data, processes, organizational components, and activities are modeled, also to extend its potential with business-useful features such as:

  • Advanced electronic signature;
  • Sending messages via SMS/WhatsApp/Telegram
  • Digital Preservation in accordance with the law
  • Survey Features
  • Advanced document automation features
  • Payment management features
  • AI Features

But for this brokerage to truly bring a competitive advantage, there must be a fundamental requirement: the use of each of the aforementioned (or other) services must be possible without the need for:

  • Initiate and manage technology scouting;
  • Enter into an agreement with each of the entities providing the service;
  • Dealing with technology integration;
  • Orchestrate processes;
  • Manage all aspects of security and privacy;
  • Manage the contract (for each service);
  • Management of user accounts for each service;
  • Manage invoices from various suppliers and related payments;
  • Taking care of maintenance over time of integration
  • Ensure continuity of service

Brokerage of low-code and nocode application services

To fully understand what this means, consider just the last point, that of service continuity: if a traditional integration has been implemented and/or a traditional connector has been used, the entity managing the  software solution still has the task, among other things, of managing the expiration of passwords for access to that service as well as ensuring payment of invoices issued by that supplier. Failure to do so could cause the integrated service to stop responding except with error messages.

Using  brokerage shifts this aspect (along with all the others) to the provider delivering the platform service, without any concern for users. Under a single contract with that provider and for a single fee, users will be able to use a variety of third-party services with surprising ease. Ultimately, the synergy between the no-code approach and application service brokerage is revolutionizing the way organizations manage and distribute their application services, promoting agility, speed, and ease of use.

Organizations can respond quickly to changing market needs by implementing new application services and rapidly adapting their operations.

In short,  application services brokerage becomes an experience accessible to everyone thanks to the powerful combination of no-code platforms . This combination not only promotes innovation and efficiency, but also paves the way for a new chapter in which technology is truly accessible to anyone with a vision and the need to dramatically accelerate development times.

The collaboration between  Openwork and the University of Turin is growing even stronger. Starting in February, with the aim of exploring new technologies in the field of accounting and accountability, the University of Turin will hold classes at the Scuola di Alta Formazione Triveneta .

On this occasion, the Jamio Openwork platform will be presented to a target audience of chartered accountants and accounting experts.

How Jamio Supports This Category of Professionals

One of the main challenges for chartered accountants and bookkeepers is the disorganized management of their activities, due to the excessive and unregulated use of tools such as Excel, Word, email, WhatsApp messages, etc.

Consequently, the need arises to adopt  innovative and cutting-edge technological tools to digitize specific processes, such as the management of individual and mass emails, invoices, or contracts.

In particular, we will illustrate the contribution a  no-code platform like Jamio can make to managing customer requests, where an organization, such as an accounting firm, needs to track all requests for documentation or other customer services.

These requests must be assigned to a specific consultant, who is responsible for managing them according to pre-established timeframes and based on his or her skills.

The  Jamio in question will demonstrate how to effectively manage this end-to-end flow, from the customer entering the request into the system to its fulfillment by the consultant.
