Cloud Transformation Grows in Italy: PaaS Services Win Awards in 2021

Cloud adoption in Italy is growing by 16% compared to 2020. This is the scenario emerging from the Cloud Transformation Observatory in collaboration with the School of Management of the Polytechnic University of Milan. According to the analysis, the Italian cloud market is currently worth €3.84 billion (up 16% from last year) , with PaaS services recording the best performance compared to 2020 (+31%), while IaaS and SaaS , which are up 23% and 13%, respectively, are also experiencing growth.

However, 34% of Italian companies stated that cloud investments were not followed by organizational change or actions aimed at enhancing the digital skills of their human resources, nor were existing business processes replanned.

The evolution of information systems in Italian companies, therefore, confirms a trend increasingly toward Cloud Transformation, with an application portfolio oriented toward both public and private clouds, and increasingly distant from an on-premise approach. Users of Jamio openwork, the application development platform delivered as a PaaS ( ) that allows you to create no-code (i.e., without using code and therefore without specific digital skills) and make it immediately usable on the Microsoft cloud.
