Jamio Openwork at the Digital Innovation Observatory conference: Cloud and AI at the heart of digital transformation

The conference "The Cloud between AI and Sovereignty:  Industrial Strategies and Policies for a New Digital Ecosystem" was held in Milan by the Politecnico di Milano's Digital Innovation Observatories

The event, which presented the results of the analysis of the Italian cloud market and its growing connection with artificial intelligence, was also attended by Martin Arborea – Sales & Marketing Director – representing Jamio openwork, the conference sponsor.

Research by theCloud Transformation Observatory of the Polytechnic University of Milan has confirmed the growth of the Italian cloud market, which will reach €8.13 billion in 2025 (+20% compared to 2024). The Private Cloud (+23%), driven by the growing demand for control and data sovereignty, while Public & Hybrid Cloud still leads overall spending with €5.83 billion (+21%).
The adoption of AI-as-a-Service solutions and developer platforms is also growing, confirming that the cloud is now the reliable and enabling infrastructure for Artificial Intelligence.

The conference highlighted the need for European companies to balance innovation and data governance, addressing the issue of technological dependence on international hyperscalers, and how large organizations are adopting hybrid and targeted strategies, strengthening security, compliance , and control over their data.
