The two-day International Business Forum "The New Frontiers of IT in Puglia," scheduled for November 7-8 at the Grand Hotel Masseria Santa Lucia in Ostuni, has concluded.
The event, organized by the Puglia Region, the IT Productive District, Puglia Sviluppo , and InnovaPuglia, saw a constructive exchange between some of Puglia's leading IT companies and several representatives of global IT giants such as Microsoft, Cisco, and IBM, regarding the sensitive and increasingly controversial topic of cybersecurity.
Why was Puglia chosen ? Because the region boasts a cutting-edge information technology sector, offering increasingly innovative IT services that have made it a fertile ground for new and challenging research and innovation projects, especially focused on digital security.
During the Forum , the knowledge and expertise of Puglia, useful for network security, application and organizational security, was valorized, also thanks to the diffusion of new emerging technologies such as enabling platforms, artificial intelligence and IoT.
Salvatore Latronico, CEO of Openwork and President of the IT Production District, opened the International Business Forum by declaring the following: "The Apulian IT sector is embarking on a path of specialization in the field of digital security with the aim of creating, in collaboration with other regional players, a system of skills around this topic that is recognizable beyond the regional territory and, we hope, nationally; this Forum represents a unique opportunity for discussion with the major international players in Information Technology in order to initiate a dialogue on the evolution of technologies and the various application solutions in terms of digital network, application and organizational security." The event concluded with a round table discussion attended by representatives of the Region and the main representatives of the various IT companies in order to gather the findings of the Business Forum and define the guidelines for a strategic and effective development of digital security in Apulia.
