Six working groups address some of the diverse societal challenges envisaged by Horizon Europe , the European Union 's research and innovation programme (running from 2021 to 2027), implemented with the aim of intervening in the technological development of various sectors of society: health; culture, creativity and inclusive society; civil security for society; digital, industry and space; climate, energy and mobility; food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and the environment.
A challenge that, to be met, requires a collaborative approach that can lead to a shared vision for the region's development. It is with this in mind that the Apulian IT Productive District, the University , and several local economic players have come together for the first time to initiate a discussion aimed at identifying innovative ideas with a strong technological focus.
This is an important first step that will see six roundtables over the coming months led by a group of over 50 companies and startups associated with the District, as well as around a hundred IT professionals from Puglia, who will use their skills to support the region.
Salvatore Latronico , president of the Apulian IT Production District and CEO of Openwork , spoke at the meeting . Watch the video of the interview below.
