Italian companies appear increasingly convinced of the need to innovate in the spirit of Industry 4.0 .
This is demonstrated by data collected by the Industry 4.0 Observatory of the School of Management of the Milan Polytechnic: technologies enabling companies to digitize their processes, IT solutions, and related services are growing, for a total value of between 2.3 and 2.4 billion euros, of which 84% is generated by Italian companies and the remainder in exports, showing a 30% growth compared to last year.
Investments are therefore increasing , but so is awareness: only 2.5% of companies say they are unaware of the topic, 15% are in the exploratory phase, and 55% say they have already implemented Industry 4.0 solutions . Help in this regard has also come from IT companies producing innovative solutions , committed to spreading a new digital culture by sharing success stories, data, and ideal solutions for implementing strategic digitalization plans and facilitating the development of new skills among workers.
Openwork is also pursuing this path , having launched projects to bring companies closer to digitalization issues for some time: innovative aperitifs, meetings with stakeholders and entrepreneurs, round tables, and innovation guides—all tools designed to tell success stories related to the introduction of Business Process Management within companies.
Tools designed to share insights into the growth opportunities associated with reorganizing work and business through information technologies such as cloud and BPM platforms . These can be introduced gradually, without disrupting the company structure, and are capable of supporting development. The result is that more and more companies, first in the manufacturing sector and then in the service sector, have begun to familiarize themselves with Industry 4.0 and have begun to concretely rethink their production processes and how to improve them with an effective and sustainable Digital Program .
