The use of IoT devices is growing in automation and efficiency projects.
However, there is not always a real perception and/or awareness of the need to secure IoT devices; moreover, the devices used are often distributed over territories and a perimeter where it becomes increasingly difficult to ensure their security.
Salvatore Latronico (president of Openwork and the Apulia Information Technology District) spoke on the topic: "Systems and architectures cannot be separated from the organization in which these structures will be used. A holistic approach to security must therefore be concerned not only with the security of systems but with fostering a culture of security and supporting, both with direct training actions and with suitable tools, the construction and management of secure information systems.
This is all the more true to the extent that so-called Citizen Developers, or end users, become active participants in the evolution of an information system through the use of no-code application development tools.
In the Secure Safe Apulia (SSA) project we are implementing solutions that enable Citizen Developers in building solutions and modeling processes that realize the convergence of IT and OT technologies by addressing security by design."
