Sebbene la crisi economica dovuta alla pandemia da Covid-19 abbia innescato una corsa alla digitalizzazione senza precedenti, dall’altra parte c’è chi ancora fatica a concretizzare la trasformazione digitale in senso ampio e totale.
In occasione del convegno “Obiettivo innovazione digitale: il Next Gen EU per trasformare le PMI italiane”, tenutosi alla prima edizione dell’Osservatorio Innovazione Digitale nelle Pmi, sono stati mostrati i risultati ottenuti da una survey, realizzata in collaborazione con Capterra, circa il livello di maturità digitale delle piccole e medie imprese italiane.
In this regard, an interesting acceleration toward the adoption of digitized document management solutions and Cloud services has emerged, with the SMEs involved now demonstrating greater resilience and better performance in terms of production and economics; however, there is also a downside to be highlighted that several companies still fail to address and that strongly relates to the acquisition of digital skills.
While 9 out of 10 SMEs have adopted electronic solutions for the management of business documentation (69 percent have chosen cloud technologies), on the other hand, there are 4 out of 10 companies in which there was a strong lack of know-how; in fact, 42 percent of SMEs said they had a low level of digital skills, numbers that are still too high to observe an alignment with trends in other European countries.
That of the lack of digital skills is a well-known issue for Italy by now, yet there are digital technologies that allow organizations without trained resources to be able to independently create professional applications for managing data, documents and business processes at particularly sustainable costs; this is the case of the No-Code Jamio platform (100% Italian), which, unlike the Low-code (little-code) platform, allows any type of organization to create its own software applications internally without having knowledge of typical programming languages.
A solution that can certainly go against those realities where IT skills and figures are in short supply and in dire need of accelerating their digital transformation.
