Smart Working has always been seen, by companies, as an alternative solution to cope with unforeseen events and emergencies, especially in the ICT world.
But it is in the time of the Coronavirus that Smart Working takes on an increasingly relevant as well as fundamental role for the future of companies; first of all, it ensures continuity, thus zeroing the risks of negative impacts on Business, but above all, it proves to be a possible strategic value to be adopted in the future against the backdrop of benefits for both employers and employees of companies.
In fact, while digitization makes it possible to dematerialize documents, simplify procedures, foster information sharing and accelerate productivity, it also offers employees the concrete possibility of being able to do the same things in places other than their official workstations, going against the needs of the workers themselves, as well as improving their lifestyle, which reflexively impacts results.
Il Sole24ore highlighted data obtained from an ADP survey "Workforce View 2019" from which it emerges that as many as 43 percent of Italians have already expressed, in this regard, the need to improve their work-life balance with the support of technologies for agile work (above all Cloud Computing and IoT).
Will this sudden emergency lead Italian companies to invest in smarter work and meet the demands of a good portion of employees?
Several companies are touching on this possibility, and it is not ruled out that there may be news on the subject in the pipeline.
